Coupe de France Revel-PSG: Rush for online tickets, almost no seats available

The remaining tickets for the Coupe de France match between Revel and PSG, which will be played on Sunday, January 7, went on sale this Monday at 14.00. Almost all tickets are sold out.

It was the big day: ever since the Revel club announced that it would start selling tickets online this Monday at 14.00 via the Castres Olympique website, many Revelois and Castres hoping to attend the match had their fingers ready to press the button. Clicking frantically at exactly 2pm trying to get hold of the precious sesame.

Everyone knew the task would be challenging: More than half of the 10,000 available slots had been sold, primarily to US Revel’s licensees and partners, at 15 slots per licensee. By adding featured players, the municipality and venues for Parisian fans, we quickly reached the sales quota of less than 2,000 venues this Monday. No wonder the internet traffic to the ticket site was so high it blew up the servers.

Saturated servers and startup lag

Because as of 14.01, not only the online ticket office but also the Castres Olympique website could not be accessed! The heavy connection influx caused the server to become saturated, and at 14:30 the server was still inaccessible except for a few lucky people. The club published a press release on its social networks explaining that the ticket office is actually increasing due to the number of simultaneous connections. The sale started more calmly around 15:00. At 3:15 p.m., there were more than 400 spaces left on sale. However, difficulties in accessing the site were constantly on the minds of those who were unsuccessful in purchasing tickets.

We understand that this will cause a certain disappointment among those who were happy to attend the meeting: for them they will have to resort to the numerous broadcasts planned to be held in the town of Revel, including the giant screen that will be installed.
