Decazeville. End of Guidon’s 2023 season in Retro

A retrospective look at the results and life of the Decazeville club and its members in the final part of the 2023 season (July to December) before kicking off the 2024 season.

July : That month two events were organized for the club, with the traditional commemoration of David Roualdes and a new event in various parts of the city, in Cayrade street, as well as at night in Villeneuve d’Aveyron. Two different races in terms of track, but that’s where the show is. At the same time, the seniors also distinguished themselves in the Tour de la CABA. The women’s Tour de France also stopped in this section.

August : Managers and drivers were welcomed at the Citroën Grialou garage in Decazeville to receive shorts bearing the image of the garage and the Sport 2000. Julien Cayssials and Elian Pialhoux competed with the professionals in the Vayrac criterion. Martin Cazelles won the Cantal week at U17 and Nathan Célié was selected for the French MTB team to compete in two World Cup rounds. It is the fourth organization of the season with the 2nd Villeneuve Grand Prix.

September : Together with professional drivers such as Nathan Célié and Thomas Pidcock, he started the World Cup tours in Vallnord and Les Gets, Andorra. Jean-Paul Barroso was in Belgium with Wout Van Aert at the Gravel event. Julien Cayssials takes the lead in the MMA-Skoda-Centre-Presse fight. In Ufolep, Mattéo Martinez and Thomas Dumoulin chained victories and places of honor. In triathlon, Sébastien Cazol also showed an impressive performance at the Ironman World Championship in Nice, placing 5th in his category. The club organized its fifth race of the season with the race to Saint-Cyprien-sur-Dourdou.

October : Julien won the Cayssials, Villefranche-de-Rouergue Grand Prix and also took part in the MMA-Skoda-Centre-Presse-Midi-Libre fight for the second year in a row. Martin Cazelles won the fight Nathan Célié showed off his empire in Turkey with his mountain bike. Jean-Paul Barroso also played for France in the European Gravel Championship held in Belgium.

November : Several U19 squads announced: Tom Ferreira, Lukas Albespy, Julian Bach. In U21: Anthony Mas. Loïck Mazars and Bastien Crozat in Ufolep. All of them made presentations in front of a full hall at the general assembly. Groupama continued and strengthened its partnership with the club. Tom Ferreira also shined in cyclo-cross with his new colors.

December : Toulousain stadium has made its U19 squad official with four Decazeville residents.
