TFC defender Logan Costa will play with the Cape Verdean selection in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.
Cameroon’s Frank Magri, Burkina Faso’s Mamady Bangré and now Cape Verde’s Logan Costa. The 22-year-old defender will be the third TFC player selected to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Ivory Coast between 13 January and 11 February 2024. The first continental tournament he will play in his career.
The Saint-Denis native has five selections with the “Blue Sharks” who will be placed in a tough group with Mozambique, Ghana and Egypt.
TFC’s undisputed starter, Logan Costa, started 16 of the 17 Ligue 1 matches the Violets played in the first half of the season. Therefore, like Magri and Bangré, he will be missing at the next deadlines.
Although TFC are likely to see Moussa Diarra leave for CAN, club president Damien Comolli has reassured the team there is no need to strengthen the defense in the winter transfer window, placing his trust in youngsters Kévin Keben and Christian Mawissa.
